The Bold, Brown and the Beautiful

Brown is back in town and we are welcoming it with open arms.

For the longest time, we have steered clear of various shades of brown in decor elements. With an over usage of this once monotone colour in furniture, wall colour and cabinetry alike it quickly became a lifeless colour used in every home nearly 2 decades ago. Since then we have been avoiding it and were focused on creating spaces with a total opposite approach using white walls, light wood and brighter choices all around. Until now.

Brown is finally trending again, but in a much more dramatic way.

It is being used to create depth and moody energy in all spaces. The key is to find the right shade that plays with the lighting in your home. Furniture should be saturated with rich tones of brown and feel as though it has naturally patinated with time.

Textiles are layered with shades of brown and paired in a tone on tone approach. All these with great use of ambient lighting and we have recreated the god awful brown into the goddess that it is.

We have compiled some of our favourite brown accents and colours this year to help you ease back into the bold and beautiful brown trend.
