I am so excited to share with you my first official project! Over the years I have helped so many people select decor and luxury finishes within their homes but not until recently had I been hired as an official decorator. This particular client works long hours as an entrepreneur and found adding personal touches to his home a challenge. Initially starting with children’s rooms, then being asked to complete a variety of other living areas in my clients home was such a compliment. I was thrilled with the outcome and had such a positive experience learning even more tricks and tips through the process.

Upon our initial consultation the two children were sharing a bedroom. They more or less had some bunk beds and a few personal items in their space. My goal was for both of the children’s rooms to be a space that they could mature with, feel comfortable and enjoy spending time in while still creating functional use of the space for things like homework and toy storage without seeming too cluttered.

Girls Bedroom

My favourite feature in this little girl’s room is the hand painted circle detail on the wall. I wanted a touch of colour without being too bold and I think the circle did just that. I also love the bedding from Pottery Barn Kids. It glows in the dark and is very elegant.

Boys Space Room

This little boy’s room was so much fun to do. I loved how easy it was to work with Urban Walls decals. They are so simple to use and create such a fun feature wall. For a little boy who is into superheroes I thought he could envision his favourite characters playing among outer space saving the world. The rich tones of navy blue create a maturity in this space while keeping it fun for a little boy at the same time.

Guest Room

This spare bedroom had some funky window placements. One overlooking the living space and the other offset above the bed frame. My goal was to create an inviting oasis for guests with premium bedding and linens that would feel as though they were staying in a hotel.

With 5 star comfort, Simons Canada carries the same bedding as Le Germain hotels – man are they premium quality! Any guest staying in this space won’t want to leave!

Functional Living Room

I felt the family room could use some warmth and a few personal touches. With a large space like this one, it also needed more furniture. I tired to warm up the space to feel inviting and comfortable enough for everyday use by adding a large area rug from Ruggable. Keeping in mind that children and large dogs live in this house, I wanted to create a space that was going to wear well with everyone using it. Ruggable rugs are 100% machine washable and stain resistant (see blog post on how fantastic they are). I also wanted to add some usable furniture. These chairs from Urban Barn actually recline despite the sleek modern nature of their design. Perfect for lounging with the family after a long day of work.
