Project We Got The Keyes
This picturesque setting was the perfect inspiration for our We Got the Keyes project, surrounded by the St. Lawrence river and nestled on a quiet street. This house was a project we were very excited to take part in.
It needed a little love (maybe a bit more than a little) having older carpets, an impractical layout, vinyl flooring and some really outdated wallpaper just to mention a few. After assessing the best floor plan, our team got right to work giving this bungalow a full service overhaul.
No details were overlooked in this incredible kitchen renovation as it became the main focal point with our new open concept layout to the house. A 10 foot rounded edge island, complete with Dekton countertops and custom millwork was thoughtfully considered for ease of flow around the large wine and fridge freezer combo. All cabinetry was crafted by Country Wide Kitchens including a built-in coffee station, with mug warmers and under cabinet lighting – another must have for our home owners. This combination next to a fully customised Dekton backsplash and unique ledge feature came together to perfection (even though it took some serious brain power to make it happen).
We wanted to preserve some of the original elements of this home, so the fireplace was reintroduced into the new concepts for this project. We used Northern Wide plank flooring throughout the entire main floor and captured the essence of the nature surrounding the home beautifully. All new windows, trim, doors, paint, lighting and everything in between were also thoughtfully considered throughout this renovation.
3 bathrooms, including an incredible ensuite that is truly one of a kind with an integrated Dekton double sink vanity. This unique work of art was imported all the way from Spain and installed with white oak base cabinets to mimic the kitchen for added storage. The large walk-in shower with his and her shower heads overlooks the St.Lawrence river with full privacy (who doesn’t want that view while freshening up each day).
Once all the hard finishes were selected, we got to work on all furniture and decor aspects as well. Each element was planned with intent of functionality and spatial awareness. Our clients had a touch of mid-century modern and transitional style, so we blended these design styles and created the perfect mix of playful and refined. We also worked with a talented architect Elyse McCurdy for some exterior direction and renderings for a seamless transition from outside in. New roof, and siding completed this incredible project that we have been so honoured to be a part of. Some projects are hard to say goodbye to, and this is certainly one of them.
Special mentions to:

The entire renovation crew with CR builders, you made this project easy even from a distance and your craftsmanship was on point from start to finish.
To our lovely homeowners, some goodbyes are harder than others and this one tugs on the heart strings a little more, you were incredible to work with and we are so grateful that you put your trust in us.
